Excited for Starfinder 2e?

The thread is mostly about hype for and worries over Starfinder 2e, and most of the play talk is about Pathfinder 2e and Lancer, which don't count. The few real Starfinder reports (1e and the 2e playtest) are mixed: people love the setting but found the 1e system flawed, and one group bounced off the playtest adventure. 4 firsthand · 176 comments

Considering porting our Starfinder game to a different system, what should we use instead?

The only firsthand account is the original poster, a DM whose college group is partway through a Starfinder campaign. They find it clunky, hard to learn and teach, and short on creative freedom. The comments are almost all system recommendations (Stars Without Number, Savage Worlds, and others) or chatter about Starfinder 2e, with no other play reports. 1 firsthand · 34 comments

Stars without Numbers VS Scum and Villainy VS Homebrewed Starfinder

The thread is almost entirely about Stars Without Number, Scum and Villainy and Traveller. The only Starfinder play report is the OP's, who ran it and found its science-fantasy tone a poor fit for a gritty campaign of nobody scoundrels. That would mean heavy homebrewing, and the OP's plan is to move to SWN. 1 firsthand · 36 comments
